The JOIDES Resolution is scheduled to return to IODP drilling activities in March 2009 after an extensive overhaul of its laboratories and other shipboard facilities. The riserless vessels first investigations will proceed with the Pacific Equatorial Age Transect, IODP Exp. 320; and Pacific Equatorial Age Transect/Juan de Fuca, IODP Exp. 321. The USIO (U.S. Implementing Organization) comprised of the Consortium for Ocean Leadership; Texas A&M University; and Lamont-Doherty Earth Observatory, Columbia University, is responsible for managing the JOIDES Resolution. The National Science Foundation contributes the JOIDES Resolution, a riserless platform, to IODP operations.
