...because Matthew Shepard died because of people like you and you are such a hater but we're here and we've come a long way and we're here to stay and just go back to your bible and bla bla bla'.
The 'discourse' is completely beyond pathetic. The level is simply abysmal...

I don't mind sharing here that i've been SHOCKED at how mindless and insipid the slogans of all vocal gays are today, how dissociated and depersonalized today's vocal gays appear to be, how intellectually dishonest and incompetent.
It's impossible to find any kind of gay discourse on the internet that's even remotely interesting. It's all in the same vein:
'Oh, you're such a hater and you're so homophobic; you don't accept diversity and you're not tolerant and you're a bigot...
-
...and have started focalizing like pathetic victims on the OPPRESSION of normativity and 'homophoboc haters'.
Too bad gay culture died. At least the vocal gays should have the good taste and sanity to stop squealing how 'PROUD' they are...PROUD OF WHAT?!?
Complete fail.

These people are not at all speaking from their individuality; they're regurgitating ingurgiated themes, and their supposed 'queer identity' is insipid because reactive, a 'positionality vis-a-vis the normative' in Butler's verbiage, which obviously signifies the supposed identity needs to deflect attention from its LACKING ESSENCE in order to even exist.
This is why all gay discourse today is propagandistic and reactive: they've FAILED to find an indentity and live it...

A interesting video, with dykes expressing their views and hopes.

@RodrigueMoore Hold on bro I was just stating my critique on the mainstream gay movement. HRC has thrown trans rights under the bus and many of these organizations have few queer people of color, gender variant representation. Pride for example is really white and male dominated. By homonormative I meant the growing tendencies for these gay rights groups to fit into this heteronormative bubble while identifying as LGBTQIA. I identify as queer so we are fighting the same thing. Its all love bro.

@coolest07noevac Utter BULLSHIT. The gay rights movement is indeed homo "normative" because being gay, lesbian, bisexual or transgendered is Indeed NORMAL, it's NOT abnormal. And the gay rights movement favors GAYS in the broadest sense. There is NO gay org that bans women, transgendereds nor people of color. Those social barriers are constructs which the gay community has spent decades trying to overcome. Gay rights and freedoms are POLITICAL, so this is why it's "politicized", DUH!?!?
What does queer look like? Evidently it looks like thick-rimmed glasses.

Michael Warner's book called The Trouble with Normal reminds us that gay marriage is somehow counter to queer activism. You may want to read Leo Bersani's Homos, which begs us not to forget about the importance of gay history in the process.
I think both Gay & Lesbian Studies and Queer Studies are equally valuable. They often overlap, but I would urge anyone not to downplay our gay heritage while using 'queer' in an essentialist/all-encompassing way, ironically enough.
