Matti recording the Optigan Romantic strings dic take 1

O.k I admit itI am tired. Beat upI need some sleep. So these arent the most inspired little cell phone films you have ever seen but they are nonetheless a good little video diary notation of todays activities at Roth Händle.

Two weeks ago I started messing with some very proggy ideasOdd time signatures, Mellotron overload and clumsily played Mallet instrumentsMy signature sound if you will. These Ideas have been sent back and forth to Jacob from White willow and with a bit of luck they might be a part of the next album

So today Einar from Gösta Berlings saga dropped by the studio to add some musicality to my scruffy sketchesWe had a great time and I also think we managed to record some good bits.

After a snappy Japanese Tempura Lunch I went back to the studio and started cleaning up the filesabout an hour later Mati came by and we started working on a new possible track for the commercial. This time we started in Optigan land and then moved on to some quite unusual Mellotron sounds

This short film shows Matti recording the Optigan using the romantic strings disc...this sound was used by Tom Waits and sparklehorse amongst others....

Its after midnight in Stockholm and time to go to beda new day tomorrow with fresh recordings and hopefullyfresh ideas
