http://www.tm.org Christianity, Transcendental Meditation and Religion explained by Maharishi Mahesh Yogi

Interviewer: Maharishi, I start with those main attacks which have been brought up against you and your Transcendental Meditation movement. In relation to the plan to establish an academy for Transcendental Meditation above the lake in Seelisberg - the Catholic inner part of Switzerland.

One attack I have already mentioned that you are against Christianity and also against the person of Jesus Christ.

Maharishi Mahesh Yogi: Any TY ending is very close to me with infinity. So my message is that of Infinity and Christianity and Infinity both meet towards the end. So there is a meeting point in the goal towards the end - Christianity and Infinity and therefore if they are two parts they meet in the end. All is well that ends well. All is well that ends well.

There is no opposition to Christianity - I love Christ very much and he must be enjoying with all this growth of infinity in the individual life because "find the kingdom that lies within you" I think has been the main teaching of Christ. And therefore Transcendental Meditation which takes the awareness to that level which Christ wanted every Christian to have is only a friend of Christianity.

Maharishi Mahesh Yogi brought Transcendental Meditation to the world more than 50 years ago and now it has been enjoyed by millions of people worldwide from all religious backgrounds.

  • He was so beautiful then, speaking so simply and such deep profound knowledge. We've been fortunate to live at a time with such a fully realized soul.

  • This is a beautiful talk. Maharishi embraces all the great religions of the world. Christianity, Islam, Buddhism, Judaism, Jainism, and more: Every religion has the same goal for it's devotees; and that's for every individual to know and feel god within their heart. God has many different names. They are all talking about the One Reality.

  • @ChemicalSpark you are taking away the universal message from the teachings of jesus. You see it as an exclusive path but that is your mistake. Jesus is not the only god in history there were masters before him and after him. There has never been a religion so full of blood, war and crime as christianity. It is disgusting.

  • The word 'religion' makes most people defensive. Christianity is not about being ‘religious’ but about allowing the Lord Jesus to free us from the bondage of the world and to follow His footsteps which lead to salvation of our souls; to be ‘born again. John 3:3. There are so many religions and Christianity should not be mistaken with the confusion that religions generate.

  • He is beyond religion just like Jesus was! In heaven there will bo no Musilims Christians or Jews everyone will be a children of the Most Hight!

  • @rooizilver "MERE teacher?" Where is that in this video? Please watch the video again and understand it fully. Jesus is clearly referred hear as "Master" or "Guru." Didn't his own disciples refer to Him, even in the Bible, as "Master?" Do you know what the term "Guru" in this context really means? It certainly IS NOT MERE TEACHER.

  • @rooizilver You are right to say God reveals Himself to his people by the Light of the holy Spirit. You are a child of God far more than these who are deceived.

  • @ChemicalSpark

You should've let Maharishi's divine words saturate your brain, rather than write that foolishness.

  • Masterful... so incredibly masterful.

  • @rooizilver

clearly missed the message delivered here

  • it's healing

  • To present Jesus Christ as a mere teacher of meditation does not do justice to Him, because he came to take away the effect of sin, nobody else could have done that. Only the Son of God could have done it. The Catholic Church teaches original sin, which means, we are born with a sin that can only be forgiven by Baptism. Nature does not understand that. It is the Holy Spirit that makes us understand it.
