If I'm correct Elfen Lied and Higurashi are two, very different yet similar animes.

Elfen Lied - Gut bombs, decapitating, and severing of limbs.

Higurashi - Torture, mental illness, and betrayal.

It just depends on what type of 'horror' you like most.

@LoveActuallies I apologize for not saying things clearly, to statehow Beautiful the song is. The song is beautiful, the story is too, and i know that and agree. I was really, just suprised at the bashing and bloody parts. AND NO. I DIDNT KNOW IT WAS A HORROR ANIME. Please dont assume people know what genre things are just because they watch it? &&things can be over whatsexpected at times too.

Okay, please let make me CLEAR what I tried to say, for people's been no reading what I commented properly, and since I probably didnt make my statement clear. (It gets really annoying when you get those "Hey, its a goo story. if you dont like it just dont watch it" kinda replies cause i really didnt mean to say anything like that.)

I DID watch the anime, just saying it suprised me. I wouldnt say it was a good anime if i didnt watch it, itd be irresponsible.

@LoveActuallies thats the point this anime is a horror anime. thats why my sister and i loved it because its the only good horror anime that isnt pervy. i mean its not that scary to me. buts it has a really good story line. you learn about each character like how Satoko would get abused by her father. its a really good anime dont give up on it just because its bloody.
