This is how atheists are handled in the Brazos Valley. Shame on you, KAMU.

KAMU, the local PBS station for Bryan/College Station, Texas, decided to skip over us entirely in this year's parade. I unfortunately didn't see the replay of last year's parade, so I don't know if they missed us then too. They also didn't mention our full band name, the Brazos Valley Atheist Vuvuzela Marching Band. They specifically left out atheist.

I know for a fact they had plenty of time to film us. The camera pointed at us for a good ten seconds, then panned up to the Nissans, then quickly skipped over us to show the tractor. Also, notice how the sound was cut. You don't hear our full rendition of Jingle Bells, including the dashing through the snow part nor the World Cup-style mini-blast at the end of the song.

This is the exact reason we need to keep showing up. We need to show atheists are a part of the community and we enjoy the winter holidays as much as anyone else!

@jggibbs1 Look at the hubub you guys raise when somebody wants to remove prayers from a school? Death threats, violence, insulting and demeaning behaviour. You all tend to cry PERSECUTION as well when somebody speaks against your faith, but my my...when somebody complains about not being displayed in a christmas festival, look at your reply. Artistry got it right by the way. We all suggest a little more education before you comment. Makes you appear slightly less stupid :D

@jggibbs1 @eunice09rel @jpink7806 Actually, Christmas was originally a pagan holiday. The tree, presents, Santa, mistletoe... Much of the holiday is completely unrelated to the birth of Christ. In fact, it's quite likely that Jesus wasn't even born in December. You guys should know about your own holidays before you comment about them...

Instead of them making a story about how successful & fun the parade actually was it's a story of ONE float out of more than 50 groups who wasn't broadcasted for some reason? Witch wasn't the ONLY float missed. (There was also another witch has nothing to do with atheist & I don't see them complaining.) VERY SAD... WAY TO RUIN IT!
