Yes, the Kents are a unique branch of the Royal Family in that they are close cousins of both the Queen and Prince Philip. The current Duke of Kent, Prince Michael, and Princess Alexandra are first cousins of the Queen, and first cousins once removed of Prince Philip. (Princess Marina was Prince Philip's first cousin.)

I read that the Duke had a heroin addiction due to his involvement with an american socialite and that he sired an illegitimate son with her who went on to marry Jackie Onassis's sister .what truth is there in this?

The Kents were indeed beautiful people perhaps the most attractive of all in the British Royal Family. The current Duke looks like his father and Alexandra is Mama's twin indeed.

The music is very dramatic so that you remain focused on the video.
The photos of Princess Marina and her husband are just beautifully done, so elegant yet so simple.
The younger generation also are very attractive.
However, there was a touch of sadness to it all of absent friends.

What are the links for the last three pictures and their dates please? I don't recognize the events besides Trooping the Colour.

thank you. The last one is from the World War II Commemoration at Buckingham Palace, 2005. The one with Prince and Princess Michael is from the 60th wedding anniversary of the Queen and the Duke of Edinburgh, 2007
