Includes pre news adverts plus the first few minutes of ITN News at 5:45 covering the 1987 General Election campaign, including Mrs Thatcher manfully building a brick wall and then taking her hand at piloting a paddle steamer laden with tourists, followed by Neil Kinnock skillfully capping bottles of Windolene. If only they had got Dr David Owen to spin some plates on the top of poles then it would have been just like the Generation Game.

@jasejames Very good point, this intro had been used since the 545 had been introduced in September 1976, and in the following year ITN introduced some cosmetic changes across all of its news bulletins that brought the image bang up to date

To be fair this was just an old intro that had been around since the 70s, and which had just been left in service a little too long.

For its day (1978) it was a very decent intro. I always liked the full version of that theme.
