We celebrated the Philippines Independence every July 4th, the same here in America until 1960. When President Diosdado Macapagal become President in 1961 he change it to June 12 because our Independence actually is June 12. Thanks DM.

@julishatreslynn I totally agree.

among all asian countries the Philippines has the most neutralized accent,,..a large percentage of the population can fluently speak in english,,,,we can also mimic different accents with ease to the point that you cannot tell the difference over the phone...i am glad that we have such skill cause it was utilized to our advantage....

the Americans helped oust the spaniards from the philippines and then the philippines were under the US until the 60's,we once celebrated the 4th of july as our independence day as well

@julishatreslynn Philippines were once colonized by the Americans.. that makes us the only english speaking country in asia..

@apawmango: Yes it is the proper way. Just like how we were taught when we were in the Elementary grades. 4/4 beat.

what's weird is that filipino fobs (who are good at singing) sing english songs with fluent english and they are phenomenal... i think they are the only asians who can do it naturally....
