Looks like little Becky got her wish. She asked the demolition guy if he could knock it down with the teachers still inside. Becky said no one likes them any way..

Awesome footage. You might want to check out the "demolition of pattengill" clips I shot a couple of years ago. My old junior High COULD have been rennovated, but, I live in a city where historical structures are not appreciated.

They can't keep the schools. When the state gave them money to build the new schools, they could not sell the old ones, and no one has the money for upkeep or utilities to run them as community centers. I suppose they could try to pass a levy, but it probably wouldn't pass. A lot of the woodwork was reused, it was sold at auction. After 80+ years of use, not much can be reused, it simply isn't cost effective. This is actually the best solution. It is now a nice green space, not a liability.

A shameful waste of a nice old building. I don't know what's worse... buildings like this being torn down, or the fact that nobody seems to care. A sign of the times I guess.
