"Serenade in Blue" is such an exquisitely cool tune...it is a featured on the 1963 album, "Dear Heart" with Phil Bodner, woodwinds, Mel Davis, trumpet/flgl, Paul Faulise, trombone, Bobby Haggart, bass, and Bobby Rosengarden, drums--Great NY studio musicians!

It's "Serenade in Blue" (not Blues)-- a gorgeous melody written for Glenn Miller and featured in the movie "Orchestra Wives". Some incredibly beautiful playing by Tom Harrell here!!!

Thanks for sharing this video. I am not familiar with the pianist but he plays beautifully. I go to see Tom whenever I can, usually in Chicago. My guess is this is from the early to mid 90's. He reminds me so much of Chet Baker on this one. What an intelligent player he is.

The pianist is great, and Mr. Baker was wonderful...
