Sure it would. Having a 6 wt just makes it easier to control some of the really large fish.

I caught a 20lb carp today on a 5wt. It took me 40 minutes to land it.

You make it sound as if carp take flies by accident, which is bullshit. Carp certainly do hunt and eat crustaceans, nymphs, emergers, etc. They are omnivores.

Carp are sifter feeders. Like cows they graze the bottom sucking in and spitting out what they don’t like. If you manage to get your fly right in front of its mouth on inhale then yes you might catch one. They are definitely not a predatory hunter like trout where presentation and fly selection is every thing.

Yes and no. Carp are long lived fish and are scavengers. Therefore, if they inhabit a polluted body of water, they can pick up a lot of toxins over time.
Coming from cleaner water, carp are good eating and are an important food fish in Asia and, I believe, Europe.
There IS a video here on YouTube that shows what parts of the carp can be eaten and you might be interested in finding it.
Also, people are using carp skin for leather, that might be interesting.
