Recap of the 100m(10.31) and 200m(20.58). Juco Cali State championship at San Mateo. Good job to all and especially to my boy Curtis Mtichell for the 1st double double in any San Diego college / Southwestern college history and 2nd in National history. Curtis was running injured last 6 weeks of the season. Goes to show his hard work from fall and spring carried him through. Doesn't show cuz he is a trooper. Good Job Curtis!

  • That was a hell of a surge from 15 to 20 meters out. Wow...I don't know the guy but - Curtis got busy!

  • You mean smoke stupid? lol

  • Nice closing speed

  • Curtis Mitchell??? Never heard...

  • His stride looks a lil small for his size based on that 100m, look how he just opens up in the last 50m of the 200.

He could verywell be the American Usain Bolt. I hope he is. USA Track and Field needs redemption!

  • Ya willie is amazing!! I seen him run. I was at the Santa Monica meet this summer. One of my protege competed in one of the meet. :)

  • That's great he's working on the 400, too. 45.6 is already world class. At the other end of the age spectrum, I was stunned to learn that Willie Gault, now 47, holds his age group world record in the 100 meter dash at 10.7!!!!!! I taught his daughter, also a fine runner and fine scholar as well, at Santa Monica College. Both daughter and father are charming people, by the way.

  • The guy can do the 100, 200 and 400. I trained him to do all 3. He gave me 4x4 splits of 45.6. He's done back to back to back 300's of 34 low's and with sweats too! LOL! I talked to Pat Henry at Texas A&M and he said he will do the all 3 events and see where he fits in towards championship time. And your right we need to support our future champions more.

  • I wouldn't be surprised if Curtis worked up to the 400 M as well. This kid deserves loads of support so he can become the next great American sprinter....and maybe some day the world's fastest man.
