Taronga's Chimpanzee Group and the Grand Old Dames

Catch-up with the Zoo's Exotics Precinct Manager, Mandy McLellan, to hear about Taronga's Chimpanzee group and the important role senior members play in making the group so socially cohesive.

The 'three old dames' of Taronga, Bessie aged 60, Lulu and Spitter who are believed to be 58 and 50 respectively share between themselves 168 years. Each of them are an integral part of the group acting as fantastic role models for the youngsters.
