I'm sorry to say that you are WRONG, it's not even Beatle's, the song first came out from The Marveletts sometime in '60s, both, The Beatle's and The Carpenter's just covered this song during their time... even now many singers and boy band's cover a same song in their style, example Iris(Goo Goo dolls -1998, Ronan Keating-2006) ...... it is not copying.... it's just covering a great song.... it's a way to keep a great song alive and also an easy way to make money ;-) Enjoy!!!
