Without Providence's colleges, universities, teaching hospitals, and museums, what would Providence be like? New Bedford? Fall River? With all due respect to the residents of those cities, who are trying hard. I'm sure they would welcome all these so-called parasitic non-profits. Good luck, Mayor, trying to build a cultural capitol without the cultural capital.

Many universities pay property tax on their dormitories (revenue-producing facilities). In Providence this is not the case. An impact fee on each student who lives in this city makes sense as they benefit from city services.

This shows you do not realize the contributions made by the city's colleges and universities...the bond of trust has been broken...I wish you luck in future elections.
