to all you with "what's a saber question" -

a saber is primarily a cavalry weapon, a sort of sword, but with a long, curved blade, thinner than what a typical sword would have. it was designed to be wielded from horseback, as a slashing weapon, and to inflict massive damage, maiming opponents, though the blow itself was rarely fatal, though the injuries it caused could induce death if without proper care.
