It's difficult to compare in your video because we've got to go forward then go back, looking for the same settings for each cam... The brightness of the rooms would be better written, are your white balance correctly sets? Unfortunately it's still not clear for me.
I just wondered something... If the lens is not Parfocal, it means that when you haven't turned "Continious focus" on it will lose focus when zoomed in/out, and same for manual focus as DSLR cameras.
But let's say you turn on "Continious focus" when you zoom in, it just changes the focus automaticly, because it has auto focus...? Or am I wrong?
Well, that's excactly what I want to know... Because normal DSLR cameras with HD video can't remail focus when you zoom in, that's why they use digital zoom for precising the focus.
But this is just more of a videocamera, and why the hell is this lens so expensive if it can't do that anyways!?!?
hmm need to see more videos but the sony killed it in this one

Bad testing. You shouldn't use a 3.5 Aperture indoors. Always use a 1.2 to 1.4 aperture fast lens. The lower the number the LARGER the opening.

Whether it can remain in focus depends on if the lens, not the camera, is parfocal. I don't believe the kit 18-200 is parfocal but I could be wrong.

You posted this on my birthday and I'm gonna get this camera for my birthday. Neat.

You should write what dB you are using on the cameras, it's hard to compare them, with so many testclips...
By the way, can the Nex VG20 remain focus on something while you zoom in/out?
