Occupy Oakland held another huge day of action on Saturday, November 19, 2011.

Thousands took over the streets and marched through downtown and around Lake Merritt before tearing down a fence around an empty lot to re-establish camp at 19th St and Telegraph.

The protesters held a huge dance party in the streets despite the pouring rain, while over thirty people came and set up tents.

Unfortunately, not enough people held the space overnight to prevent a third raid from the Oakland PD the next morning.

  • For the Neo - Aristocates to see the poor down trodden Black community rise up. with their heads held high, all decked out looking like a million dollars. (without saying a word) What a slap in the face to the opposition. They were letting the world know that they were worthy to be recognized as a valuable human being.(Equal to the opposing side) ? How do you think they see you. And what can you do to change their mind about the way they see you. Remember we need to recruit mainstream America.

  • Main stream American can not relate with what they are seeing. This is some serious shit that is happening. (You see it but they don't.) Save the dancing for the victory march, and that ain't happening yet boys and girls. To much work to be done! Martin Luther King had many followers, they gathered in great numbers and they marched, and they marched and they marched. They displayed great confidence as they quietly marched in there Sunday apparel. What a sight that must have been to the..

  • Protesting against a cruel dictatorship should be the mandate of every US citizen. But, I don't agree with provoking the opposition to anger. Cops with (low IQs and anger problems) are recruited and encouraged to unleash their anger on who ever even attempts to oppose them, It's impossible to reason with theses types of brainwashed creatures, Dont fuel the fire your wasting your time. To many protesters are playing right into the hands of these Corp. witch doctors. Main stream America needs ..

  • @Pivotman1 ah ... no ... psychopaths are ruining everything. That's why the Patriots are protesting. Drum circles ...yes. If it's so lame I suggest you don't participate. Trying to put down the protesters will be a failed attempt.

IMHO anyone trying to put down these brave and patriotic Souls are either shills for the banksters/corrupted congress or idiots ... and somehow I doubt the idiots will be posting more than the shills.

  • My ex-husband called this "Oakieville". He was from Stockton.

  • @Pivotman1 Lighten up man.. nothing wrong with having a little fun :)
