Carl Anthony remembers his first meeting with Karl Linn in North Philadelphia in the 1960s. He describes Linn's influence on the fields of planning, architecture and landscape architecture, how his community projects provided a model for the first domestic peace corps, and how Linn bridged the intersections of social justice and environmental issues.
Carl Anthony is an architect and planner, Ford Foundation Fellow and former Ford Foundation Director of Community and Resource Development, co-founder and former executive director of Urban Habitat, convenor of the Bay Area Alliance for Sustainable Development, and former president of the Earth Island Institute. He wrote the epilogue for Building Commons and Community.
