1940 VKT Finn M91 1894 Chatellerault

Picked this up off an auction. Looks pretty good. Needs a little cleaning up but the bore doesn't look bad at all.

On the stock, was the front of the stock cut for the spanish Civil War or after?

How do you tell if a barrel is shot out?just curious.

@robiskul Well you can try the "bullet test" by sticking a round in the muzzle, bullet first. If it's not counterbored and it sinks in to the mouth of the case, then the rifling is worn at the muzzle, and could possibly cause inaccuracy. Sometimes it can be seen by looking down it and seeing a very worn out bore.

@cwbyfan223 Yea, looks like it's going to carry on in it's afterlife. I hate to do it, but it could turn in to another project. Perhaps I could cut the barrel, but it would be very hard for me to do something like that.

Had chinese m44 years ago could not hit a 4ftx4ft plywood target at 25 yards an old man at a gun shop told me the throat was shot out but it had fair rifleing.
