Just finished it. Got Ghost Fay and made her #1. Bought the flaming sword early on. Got the elemental armor late. Beefed up my browns and reds to 4th level. Loved the game. Loved my minions; those little guys really grow on you after a while. Same with Gnarl. The missions were at times *very* clever. I give Overlord II, 3.5 pop-tarts out of 5. It should've had more customization; more minion types, armor and weapons, and tower upgrades. But those are minor quibbles.

Overlord is better than Fable.
Fable is a good game of course.
But Overlord; Evil tower, Evil Master, Minion army, elf punting.
