Ilana Shafir is a world-renowned artist from Ashkelon, Israel. She is famous for her watercolor paintings, ceramics and modern mosaic works. Particularly compelling about Ilana's work is the way in which it reflects and evolves alongside her life experiences. This video titled 'Aliya' is the fourth in a series of eight short films about Ilana's life and work. In 1949, 25 year old Ilana immigrated to Israel, married and settled in the town of Ashkelon. אילנה שפיר היא אמנית בין-לאומית מאשקלון, שהתפרסמה בעבודותיה המגוונות הכוללות ציורים בצבעי מים, פיסול בקרמיקה, ומוזאיקה מודרנית. התפתחותה של עבודתה האמנותית שזורה בקורות חייה. הסרטון 'עלייה לארץ' הינו הרביעי בסדרה של שמונה סרטונים המלווים את יצירתה האמנותית במשך 70 שנה. בשנת 1949, בת 25, עולה אילנה עם משפחתה לארץ, מתחתנת ועוברת לגור באשקלון. אילנה מציירת דיוקנאות של עולים חדשים המתגוררים במעברות שבסמוך לעיר.
