Nip it in the bud? It's way past that. The only thing he can do is come clean about his Illegal status - and then he would have to resign from the presidency. He's not going to do that. As soon as the investigators get close to him, false flag events occur, deflecting the spotlight from him.

I know Article II Subsection (b) clearly states that "The President shall, if challenged by mouth breathing fools who hate on his brown skin, produce and defend his BIRTH CERTIFICATE!" True story and the only exclamation point used in the whole document so you know it is important.

I will not disagree that Apuzzo did a poor job, but to say that a judge asking him to make his case while interrupting him every three words before he can even finish a sentence seems to be counter-intuitive to what he is asking Apuzzo to do. I agree Apuzzo is a crap attorney, but you can not say you do not see the slightest bias the judge holds for the defense. Hell the defense didn't even have to show, between Apuzzo mocking it up and the judge interrupting him every two words.
