  • I had a 3.2 GPA in Highschool, and am right now in College at Hobart in WIlliam Smith. doing something i hate. i have always loved aviation and have a few flying hours. im doing pretty well in college but need a change. What are the chances of me getting into ERAU?

  • @marblehamburger i think you have a good chance of getting into ERAU. I don't know the college you are going to now, but showing any school you already have "proven" college time shows dedication. that can only help.

schedule a visit to one of the locations and see if you like it. The link to the visiting campus page is right on their website. youtube will not let me post the link

  • I SO want to go to ERAU... I should be able to get a scholarship, but how hard is it to get a scholarship to ERAU?

  • @grossesfleischgewehr

I’m not exactly sure what the rules are now. When the SATs were done on a 1600 scale when I took them, I was able to pull the ERAU presidential scholarship with a 1290 and 3.86 GPA in high school. Give financial services a call, they are very helpful.

  • @elimoto how hard is it to get into? i also really want to go. I got a 3.7 last year unweighted, do i need to get it up even more to be eligable?

  • Why do people that sky dive open their parachutes so early??!!??

  • @elimoto Ahh, good stuff on the plane. We've got a good relationship with the new owners in Cottonwood, so that may be feasible.

It is a bit of a tragedy about the rigs. Having those rigs would make skydiving SO much more accessibly to a lot of students if we could work out a discount for providing our own gear. I'm just making sure that if we can get gear, it doesn't happen again (as great as it would be for school to buy me an extra rig :p)

If you're ever back in town, let's jump! dave rhea

  • @drizzrr awe man, that sucks about the rigs. i worked super hard to get SGA to buy one of those each year. We had 3 complete student systems. Logan Briery was the prez after me, i don't know who he picked to follow him.

The jump plane for our demo jumps came from Cottonwood. we used to be good friends with the original owner, Dan Bachelor. Then Bill and Carol who bought it from Dan. The climb up to altitude is just about the same as a normal jump. so they were pretty cool with giving us a ride

  • @elimoto The club died off a bit in 2009, but it's back now. The rigs that the school had mysteriously disappeared and have been spotted now and again at Eloy... We currently jump out of Red Rock in Cottonwood and are hoping to start competing in the USPA Collegiate Nationals in 2011. I'm hoping that we can do a similar demo for Octoberwest 2011. We've got about 5 licensed jumpers and 7 working on their A licenses.

So, the big question that I have is where'd the jump plane come from?
