Behold the Electric Lute custom made by luthier Ian Schneller of Specimen Guitar Shop. Played here for the first time by Michiel Niessen who commissioned the instrument. It occurs to me that there's probably an alternate universe where the electric lute is the dominant instrument of modern popular music, and we're all being amazed by a video of the 'Custom Electric Spanish Guitar'...

I was playing Fable 3 and listening to Pink Floyd when I shouted "Electric Lute Fuckers!", and then got the idea to make one, but before I got carried away, I YouTubed it, and found this. I'm glad someone else had the idea.

Does anyone know how much this cost? This makes me want to play lute even more than I already do. I want one so bad! Also I want an electric Citole and an electric Gittern!

Here is the info on the piece played.
Fantasie 6 by Gregorio Huwet of Antwerpe
(full title: "Composed by the most famous Gregorio Huwet of Antwerpe : Lutenist to the most high and mightie Henericus Iulius, Duke of Brunswicke, &c." Comes from: Robert Dowland Varietie of Lute-lessons, London, 1610.
I am unaware of a version in modern or guitar notation. You might be somewhat familiar with tablature and figure it out. Please email me if you want the tabulature. Thanks
