Teac A-3340 4 channel reel to reel tape recorder

My first video using this Teac A-3340 Deck I got today. It needs a lot of work but I got it going enough to play a pre-recorded tape left over from the radio station where I worked years ago. I need to clean and lubricate this unit, adjust the reep brakes and clean the heads and align them if I can find an alignment tape. There is a little high frequency dropout on this song at a time and I do not know if it is the tape or the machine at fault. This set was pretty much a wreck when I got it like it had been dropped. Not surprised at that it weighs nearly 50 pounds. It is playing I've never been loved in all of my life by Charlie Pride. I have 9 reels of classic country music.

I had one of this it worked wonderful and had a beautiful sound.
What I liked about tape recorders reel to reel was the bandkompression
and that lovley broad and big sound established.
The hiss was sometimes a drawback especelly when doing sound on sound recordings.But It was great stuff to have a Teac 4 channel taperecorder (-:i

I have own form new nad it sounds and works wounderful, you cannot get this qaulity any more..ITS PRICELSS...

This was recorded at 7.5ips on a 2 track machine. This is a 4 track machine so the heads may not match the tracks perfectly. I played a commercially recorded RCA Victor tape at 7.5 4 track and it sounded much better.
