This is a video of a 2006 GMC Sierra that had a check engine light & some evaporative emissions codes. I show how to diagnose the problem with a scan tool and the upgraded parts required to repair it. The codes in the PCM were P0449 & P0455. I repaired it with a procedure in GM TSB 02-06-04-0374 that was to repair a restricted EVAP vent path &/or code(s) P0446 / P0442. This problem could also result in a fuel tank that is hard to fill.

  • What kind of scanner is that?? I have a p0332 code that autozone gave me on my 01 5.3 silverado and I wanna make sure it isn't the knock sensor that's gone bad by restating it and seein if it comes back on.

  • haven't seen any new videos from you in a while. what's up? am i just missing them or are you takin' a break?

  • @fomoco300k I've been pretty busy @ work. (I do have another full time job & these vids are just my side work.) Also, my wife is in college & her education seems to be more important than my vids & she gets first call on our computer. That being said, the train horn is installed on my truck, & I'll be uploading the video as soon as I can.

  • did this continue to work? I have a 2006 silverado crew cab with same problem. I am thinking about tackling it the way you did. I am hoping ( haven't looked yet') that it is the same as a yours.

  • @amberdawn1 Still working.

  • thank you!! finally i found something that can help me !

  • I certainly understand how busy life, work and family can be. I think I speak for lots of folks when I say we miss your videos and know how. Family is always most important thing, tho. Best wishes to your wife. (PS- Looking forward to that train horn!)
