The mediocre teacher tells.
The good teacher explains.
The superior teacher demonstrates.
The great teacher inspires.
Today, we are celebrating Dr.Radhakrishnan's Birthday as Teacher's day and I'm here to share some memories of my teachers, who have inspired me.
When I first came to the school, I was interviewed by Mr. Swaminathan Sir, our Principal. He asked me, "What is your name?". I said "U.H.Shaistha Farheen". He was looking at my application. Then, I asked him, "What is your name?". He was shocked and astonished. I don't know, what he thought at that time, but now, he is the first person to congratulate me on my accomplishments.
On my first day to the school, I was welcomed by Miss.Williams and she was our LKG Class teacher. She taught not just ABCD and ring-a-ringa-a-roses, also to learn from whatever we see. She calls me lover and she is my lover.
Then I went to UKG and Miss.Sandra Walker smiled at me. She helped me to improve knowledge by reading many books. She calls me darling and she is my darling.
I passed KGs to meet Miss. Thangapriya. She encourages me to participate in competitions and she jumps in joy, when I get prizes. She will not leave any stone unturned for my success.
Then it is our Tamil teacher, Miss Kokila. She is the one, who made me to deliver speeches on stage. She calls me Pattukutti and she is my lovable mentor.
All my teachers, have one common complaint against me. That is, "Shaistha is always talking, talking, talking." They never discouraged me, but converted my nature into skill and I'm here to deliver speeches.
It is our HM, Mrs. Prema Francis, who augmented the efforts, by giving acceptance and offering continuous encouragement for all my participations. I'm thankful to her.
I also owe my gratitude to few more teachers who helped me participate in extra-curricular activities.
Miss. Hamsalatha, our Hindi Teacher helps me to learn an additional language.
Miss. UdhyaVani, our Computer Teacher introduces computer concepts to me.
Miss. Uma Rajesh, our Dance Teacher guides me to perform dance.
Miss. Susanne, our Yoga Teacher made me to do yoga, on sports day.
Miss. Revathi, our Drawing Teacher tunes me to play with colors.
Miss. Vasantha, our Craft Teacher inculcates creativity.
Miss. Sundri, Master. Stephen, and Master. Aiyappan our PT miss and PT masters, train me in sports activities.
All my teachers, rejoice, when I achieve and I love them all.
A good teacher is like a candle - it consumes itself to light the way for others.
I'm thankful to all the teachers and I wish them all, a joyful and cheerful Teacher's Day.
Thank You.
Congrats Shahi...
