Tornado Hits Lone Grove, OK - 2.10.09 (Storm Tracker Audio)

this is audio/video from my digital camera, aimed at my monitor, as tornado warned storm was approaching Lone Grove, OK tue evening. (NWS Radar looping in Firefox, and KXII TV is playing on my Windows Media Center) In the video, Doug Drace, a great guy, who knows his stuff when it comes to severe wx and storm chasing, and i've got to chase with him a couple times.. Doug is heard tracking and reporting on this severe cell, which quickly went tornadic, and cut a good sized path through the Lone Grove area of S Ctrl OK. in the video, Doug is reporting back to our local tv/wx station, KXII, who he has had a long term relationship with, chasing, and reporting on severe weather for as well. video starts out calm, gets intense real fast! they even get hit by another vehicle, but everyone is ok.

I want to thank you for posting this. I live in Lone Grove. This f-4 missed my house by maybe 2 blocks. I didn't get to hear any live reports on tv or scanner because I had already unplugged my tv and computer and everything (because there was wicked lightning) before the tornado got to Lone Grove. Thanks again.

yeah, but i knew was gonna hit here or close before too long.. it's been too long since ort last.. sooner or later, the odds catch up to you.

but yeah, good thing it didn't, would of been alot worse.. possibly more injuries, financial hit would of resulted.

I was raised in Stobtown - 5 miles north of lone grove. Our place is ok but I understand that the town of LG is devistated

yeah, it's a mess. my X and daughter live just north of LG, they got a close shave i think, but no damage.

ok i see the channel 12 live Doppler , but whats the other program with the blue back drop...i moved to oklahoma 8 months ago, and with the season going to start up here soon i'd like to be able track them as well..ps. i live in healdton

my cousin was in here.... she lost her parents.. and my moms frann lost his wife.. i know it has been a while since this has happend.. but we need to pray for these families

God I miss nowcasting for Doug! I haven't seen him in about 2 years but I miss chasing with him. I couldn't tell you how many tubes I've bagged thanks to him and how many times I've got him in the right place at the right time haha He's such a great guy and he surely knows his stuff!! If you see Doug or Steve, tell them Travis said hey. They'll know what you mean!

wow i was in grady spotting when the tornado formed i thought it was just windy when i decided to leave and when i got home the weather service was saying a tornado just formed near grady moving north. i wish i had access to doppler radar imagery at that time i could ve warned them earlier
