This is an ultra rare documentary made juring the Making of the Empire Strikes Back between 1979-1980. If you consider this the best of the Star Wars films and love the score then this is the holy Grail of documentaries. I will post the rest when I have more time, I am having trouble getting good quality on the uploads at the moment. Stay tuned.

  • wow

  • @MadHighway Disagree there. "Return" had by the finest score of the original trilogy. Truly haunting.

  • You can hear how the romantic theme from 'Empire' fits right between his work on 1977 on 'Close Encounters' and 'Star Wars' and 1981's 'Raiders'.

'Empire' had an evemn more powerful score than 'Star Wars'. 'Return' was a weaker movie in all respects.

  • the lord of music

Aah, don't be so shy. We love your work on the Star Wars music! :D

  • Great to see him sitting at the piano, and seeing recording sessions footage!

  • @Arceuszilla i cried when i found out :(

  • @Arceuszilla Yeah RIP

  • R.I.P Irvin Kershner

  • I think "Jonny" was responsible for at least 1/3 of the genius that made these films the success that they became. These scores laced within these films are masterpieces; up there with the very greats of classical-music! I only wonder what Beethoven or Mozart would have composed if they had a visual story to mold their work around! Your work hasn’t left me for 25 years and I don’t see that changing anytime soon.
