It is possible to win in your first year, because no matter how many power berries you have it is still the same difficulty....

i did it the old fasion way, plants lots of crops and take good care of my animals...

Oh man this is a LOT easier then everyone is making it out to be.

If you want to guarantee a win all you have to do is jab the X button quickly and look at the face your character is making. Make sure the face NEVER and i mean NEVER drops below (-_-). <------ That face.

When your character has (-_-) <---- that face HOLD the triangle button down till you get the smiley face and then continue bashing X button and when you get (-_-) <---- that face again repeat the above steps again.

Then once you reach a little past the half way mark.....I'd say about 60%. Just continue to mash the X button like crazy all the way to the finish. You character is capable of handling the remaining 40% left of the race with NO problem at all.

This works 100% unless you're doing something wrong. I've done it this way 10 times in a row. Yes,you heard right. 10 freaking times in a row!! Just to make sure this method works.

It'll guarantee a victory. Enjoy!

Watching this helped me win in my first year! It took 5 times to get it, wasn't quite exactly the same as this vid but it helped a lot!

Oh almost forgot... Kai swim slower and slower when almost reach finish line..

Your key to win this Swimming Festival is practicing your timing and calm.. Good luck :)

2) press swim 3times/second when smile face, 4times/second when orange face (o_o), and so on.. If you press 6times/second when smile, then your character tiredness double with same range you achieved, believe me or try it yourself.. 3) Don't ruined your start, press swim button repeatly (with timing of course) when Mayor start saying "On your mark, get...."

With that trick, you can win Swimming Festival even without Powerberries..

Here the guide.. Your char swim faster when smile face & become slower and slower as the face change (red face is slowest),, Don't press button to slow and to fast when small face.. Why? I can't explain with just text.. Here the trick.. 1) I suggest you keep smile face (the fastest) when swimming,, the step is :) -> o_o -> rest until smile +1,5 second -> :) -> o_o -> rest until smile +1,5 second -> swim until finish if your distance to finish line is 40%
