Watch the Dolomedes in it's hunting habits, did You you ever think of Spiders grooming themselves after each meal and witness the Little Fight over the dead Insect. So if You think Spiders are just Nasty Aggresive creatures You obviously don't know much about them. Watch this Dolomedes with a Legspan of nearly seven CM.

  • TROLOMEDES MINOR DOLOLOL

  • @7777dmith7777 It's a Dolomedes Minor, one of four New Zealand Dolomedes species. Although they have aquatic abilities, they aren't specifically found around water and they are Nurseryweb Spiders.

  • That looks like a Dolomedes Triton .. otherwise known as the six spotted fishing spider, the name nursery spider is just a loose term...

  • Nice video, from what i've gathered though Dolomedes are regarded as fishing spiders and nursery web spiders are Pisaura sp.

I may be wrong though i just havent heard of Dolomedes sp. being regarded as Nursery webs :)

  • I'd love to have one, I think I'm going to make it and Hogna carolinesis my next spiders. I love large true arachnids, and I miss my Tegenaria gigantea. :(

  • Thanks for that, I know hand-feeding is fun, although I do it occasionly I never quite get used to the rapid movement ( It sometimes gives Me a little fright). Haha. I've seen a couple of Your Dolomedes videos, quite impressive.
