Here are some wonderful trashpicked Wharfedale speakers, and two tape decks that need repair. The speakers are fine, so let's talk about the tape decks. The Teac unit is a garage sale find that I finally decided to fix, while the Pioneer deck came from the same place the speakers did. It seems that someone has treated the Pioneer cassette deck pretty badly and it has a lot of problems. Can I fix it? Watch this and part 2 to find out!

  • Did I see a PS/2 tower with bits missing from it at the start of the video?

  • @Lachlant1984 Yes, although it's not missing anything that I know of. It only needs a good cleaning and maybe a hard drive.

  • That black tape you showed was a chrome one! My Yamaha 'appears' to support Chrome/Metal ones, but only deck a supports both. B, supports just metal and the standard

  • @airconguy1 You're right, I messed that up. (See comments below for more info on that.) This deck supports all popular tape types in both wells.

  • I've got a pair of warfdale towers that I've had for years. Great sound!

  • @odius94 One of the tweeters is blown, but these are still pretty nice speakers. I don't know if I'd say that are necessarily better than other good speakers or not.

I have two pairs of Sony bookshelf speakers and two pairs of Acoustic Research speakers (old ones, not new ones) that also seem to be very good speakers.

  • This is a general comment: I enjoy the style of these video when it comes to repair. The are fast moving and to the point and detailed. I just started watching these from a related video vantage point. GOOD WORK

  • Very very interesting!

Good thing Decks like these can be bought for a fraction of their original price.

  • Dude, you got wall to wall electronics, like me.... or what?? hahaha

  • @uxwbill I may have found that comment...

  • @itscool1968 Certainly, but I'm curious as to why UL was not involved (since they are for practically every electrical device sold in the US) and why the city of Los Angeles was. I'm also curious as to that certification's standing in other parts of the US. I've only ever seen one other device marked that way--an Eldorado Electrodata Director Two calculator that was built in Los Angeles.
