Fallas De Valencia Mascelata/Mascleta 2009

The Mascelata, or 'Mascleta', which apparently means 'war on the ground' takes place every day in the Placa de l'Ajuntament (the Town Hall of Valencia) at 2pm in the week leading up to the 19th March. It consists of noise, fireworks, noise, smoke and more noise. The video is in 3 parts to show how it starts with smallish bangs and fireworks, then a lot of smokiness and more bangs ultimately leading to a barrage of noise which the locals seem to really appreciate! Toward the end you can even see debris falling from the sky....... and boy, do they love it!
