I really, really wish I hadn't made such a big deal about needing to say something to Bailey. I really think she thinks I'm going to ask her to marry me. I don't blame her. I'm such an idiot for going about it like this. I pulled a black box out of my pocket and sat next to her on the bed. That should give her a hint.
"Bailey. I really love you. I know you know how I feel about sex and don't approve. But...please don't be mad. I got you a purity ring. It says "True Love Waits" and on the inside it has our initials." I said as I slowly opened the black box revealing a shiny sterling-silver ring. I couldn't tell what she was thinking by the look on her face. It was between happy and disgusted.
"Joe...you're so sweet! Thank you so much!" she said, wrapping her arms around me. "So you're not mad?" I asked, slipping the ring onto her left ring finger. "Nah. We're too young to get married anyway. This is perfect." she said, putting her hands on my cheeks, giving me a quick peck on the lips. "I love you so much Joe." she said, giving me another quick kiss. "I love you too Bailey. More than words can explain. More than anything will ever be able to explain."
