Dedication ceremony for the WInd Lotus wind turbine at the Herod's Palace in Eilat during the Eilat Eilot renewable energy conference www.eilatenergy.com
The placement of the Wind Lotus is the result of the combined efforts of the City of Eilat, the management of Herods hotel, the Leviathan Energy Company and Baran Raviv Engineering. The vision of the City of Eilat is to transform the area into a totally Clean Tech Area within ten years, depending only on renewable energies produced locally. The Herods hotel took the initiative of demonstrating the small wind turbine as part of its efforts to go green, during the Eilat Eilot International Conference for Renewable Energy.
The inauguration of the Wind Lotus wind turbine is the beginning of a new era in Israel of a new kind of renewable energy Small Wind Energy. Small Wind can be placed next to its users, in towns, in the country side, shopping malls, hotels, on flat roofs, kibbutzim, small businesses, army bases, cellular antennas, schools, hospitals, and even charge hybrid or electric cars!
The era of Small Wind allows citizens to join the ranks of large corporations in becoming private electricity providers which will help reduce the dependence on oil and reduce the production of greenhouse gases, thus joining the Green Revolution.
The Wind Lotus resulted of a two year research effort of Israeli and immigrant engineers and scientists under the leadership of Dr Daniel Farb, founder and CEO of Leviathan Energy. The production of the Wind Lotus started in the area of Shderot during December and the first installations are taking place these days in Israel.
