Dwight/Keith Whitley-"Between an Old Memory and Me"

My dear YouTube friend ji61m had a great idea that he presented to me. He thought, since Dwight and Keith never got to do the duet they had always wanted to do, why not create one myself? So I did. I hope it comes across alright. Thank you, Jim, for believing in me enough to do this. You know I love these guys, and there's not a thing I wouldn't do for them. Except date Mike Whitley. I got a man. I love you, Mike, but I have to draw the line somewhere. (LOL)

Dwight's version is from his 1996 debut album "Brotherly Love." Keith's is from his 1989 album "I Wonder Do You Think of Me."

WOW very well done. I was expecting it to sound...well not too good...but it's about as close as we'll ever get to having the two of em in a studio together. I really don't know what else to say, other then WOW and I wish this was released on some CD so more people can hear it. Just wondering, were you lucky enough that the songs were recorded in the same key or did you need to use some kind of pitch shifting software? How did you get the instrumentals so seamless?

@psychotic33089 Wow! That's so sweet! Thank you for the kind words! No, surprisingly, I didn't have to use Audacity, I just used Windows Movie Maker, that's it. Dwight's version is ever so slightly faster in tempo than Keith's, but both versions are in exactly the same key.

FANTASTIC!!! Excellent job, totally seamless. Never heard of the Whitleys until I began viewing the videos you posted. I have been a country music fan since the '60's. But the country station here switched to sports in 1988. Since I got a computer and went online last July, I've once more been able to listen to country music.

Wow, I had no idea, thank you so much for bringing this incredible piece of music history to the FB pages. I loved it, and as usual I am overwhelmed with this song bird and now to know his brother has such an incredible voice, I am humble in the presence of such a music avanture'' made up word. But if if meant anything, it woulds say he is as close to Keith as God will allow us. I am grateful to be in his presence.
