I think they were wonderful. Some were better than others but they all did well. Kids, don't take it so seriously, have fun with it and let your dog have fun. It should be something to look forward to and to take pride in, not a punishment or a chore. I used to train dogs and horses and believe me when I tell you it goes much better when you do it for fun and can laugh at yourself. Don't make the dog or horse feel like you are a taskmaster, it helps to be in charge but be kind about it.

I like it, but I disagree on something. Most of the dogs are jumping at the same height. The big dogs are jumping like the little dogs, and some little dogs are having some tough rime with the jumps because they are too high. Next time you should mention this to the 4H leader. I am in 4H, and to make it easier for training, and easier on the health of the dog, please set the jumps to the right height!

@tomandgeorgiaforever likw what kinda tips lol. Contacts, wraps, serps, etc?
-
@tomandgeorgiaforever u can do it at home just dont ask tips from him =/

By the way, you should encourage your kids to clap more and act more excited when doing this so the dog's will do good off leash and the German Shepherd is GORGEOUS. x)

They should've definitely lowered the jump for the second dog. I train my Cocker Spaniel who is a runt, 14' to the shoulder I believe and last year when doing agility in show, (off leash) the jumps were WAY too high. But good thing the judge was very nice and lowered the jump down to where my dog could jump over it. :) I got third place.

that was the leesh EPIC ive got to use that sometimes
-
they shouldn't have those jumps that high!!!! and the 2nd child was forcing his dog over the jumps! the kids are having fun, but u have to train the dogs the correct way.
-
Awesome handling by them! I do 4-h with my chihuahua.

That second dog needs a REWARD for jumping over that jump when he definetly did not want to!

@SteinbaumGSD Sad that in college people are needing to learn grammar, but sadly, I know they do.
Ok, I agree that the kids are out having fun but for the love of god! Their PUPPIES and their JUMPING!!!!!!!!
You dont want a dog doing jumps like that until their at least a year old!
I teach a puppy agility class and there is NO jumping at all!!!!

P.S. I'm also an attorney and a college English Comp instructor. You should have written "They're puppies and they're jumping."
You used the plural possessive "their" and you needed the contraction "they're" (for they are).

It seems like every video I watch on YT has haters! In this video I saw happy humans and happy dogs. It's not my preference to see a child handle a dog on a choker, especially around agility equipment, but it's not inhumane. In fact it's better than a dog living a life in a crate, or a yard. Enjoy the video for what it is... people enjoying life with dogs!

Thank you, plaidskunk. I agree with your philosophy. As for the choke collars, I think that my students were trying to impress the video camera, trying to go too fast (faster than we had been training) and ended up tugging too much on the collars.
