Johann Sebastian Bach (1685-1750)
Premier movement and Larghetto from:
Harpsichord Concert BWV 972 in D major
after Antonio Vivaldi (1678-1741)
Johannus Opus 220

Registraties:
(1):
II:Roerfluit 8', Koppelfluit 4', Fluit 2'
I: Prestant 8', Holpijp 8', Octaaf 4', Octaaf 2', Mixtuur 5 st.
Larghetto:
II:Roerfluit 8', Tremulant
I: Holpijp 8'

This piece is a transcription of an Italian concert by Antonio Vilvaldi. Johann Sebastian Bach and his cousin Johann Gottfried Walther made a series of transcriptions for organ and harpsichord after Italian concerts by different composers. The concert I play is one of the harpsichord transcriptions, but can as well be played on organ. The third movement is still a bit too difficult to me. I added a complete harpsichord performance to my favorites.

  • Hello Bart. I'm 70 years old and have played the organ since I was 21. When I was your age I don't think I did as well as you are doing. I'm very glad for you.Have you ever played a large pipe organ with 3 or 4 manuals and do you intend to continue even when you become an electrical engineer? Good luck and keep up the good work.

  • Thank you. Sometimes I practice on the organ in our church. It's a modern organ with 3 manuals and 30 stops. Although its sound tends to be a bit sharp, it has many possibilities and it is a nice experience to play on it. I'll alway continue to play the organ as a hobby.

  • Great job! This sounds very good on organ. I really like your choice of registers too. Thank you for the enjoyable and sensible playing. This is quality!

  • Thank you!

  • What type of organ do you have?

  • I've a Johannus Opus 220 organ. It's an analogue organ and it's almost as old as I am, but I still like the sound.

  • just loving organ

  • great job men!!

  • fantastic! I always wondered how this would be for an organ. One suggestion though, practice with a metronome! It helps so much. It's nice to see young organists- and cute too!

  • I have heard this performed on a harpsichord before... it lends itself to organ very nicely!

  • I agree with you! I played one of these instruments at my Grandma's funeral last Fall. I loved the sound but the pedal touch was unusually light. The Opus 220 is also my desktop background.

  • Hey!n That ain't nice!

  • Good !

    But You can Better !!!

  • st movement is nice but second...

    1) Tempo is to slow

    2) There is no feel what metar (time signature) is. You should (i don't know how to say on english) stand a bit more on first, and other eights play a bit shorter.

    3) You need more precised articulation.
