A romantic, contemporary fable, SALMON FISHING IN THE YEMEN is the tale of government employee Dr Alfred, or Fred, Jones (Ewan McGregor), a rather introverted scientist at the Department of Fisheries and Agriculture. Trudging along in his day job, with his marriage stagnating, his world is suddenly thrown into turmoil when he's drawn into a scheme hatched by a fly fishing-obsessed Yemeni Sheikh (Amr Waked) who dreams of achieving the seemingly impossible — introducing salmon to the wadis of the Yemen.

Bro, none of it was shot in Yemen... I'm from Yemen, and our country is beautiful but this movie is a joke. Think critically. A westerner teaching an arab how to salmon-fish. it has political ideas attached to it. Plus do you think arabs get in the water wearing their traditional clothes? or are those a mere representation of what an arab look like? The intent of the movie isn't to show the beauty of Yemen at all. there are better movies for that.

The movie was better as I exeptet it wpuld be! Love Emily Blunt! People, don't forget, it's a romatic comedy. And it isn't even a stupid comedy. This one got style. And the movie is even critical with the gouvernement and the medias. On a funy way of course

The unknown Arab who is presenting the Yemeni Guy real name is : Amr Waked..i wonder how come the moview revolve around a Yemeni Guy's idea and the actor name did not get mention just cuz he is an arab ? fuck ya intolerance then they come back to you to call you terrorist ,the terrorist is the one who think that way and not only the one who act like so
