  • Very nice , love the simplicity of your model . I had read that the single gyroscope monorails had problems with thier turning . But this seems to make right and left turns fine .

  • @Razzer1356 Turning characteristics of a right curve and the left-hand curve are not the same.

  • Beautifull. Try inertial propulsion as main engine ;) Rotating two excntrical mass inside two elliptical path.

  • How fast can this vehicle go on a reasonably straight track?

Recently on British TV, a 10-mile race between 6 OO-gauge model trains (1/72nd scale) was staged - between Bideford and Barnstaple, on the course of on old railway line (James May BBC).

The winning time was 4 hours.

I feel sure that a gyro-train could go faster. One of the problems with the trains used in this race was their instability at speed, due to lateral wobbling, brought about by wind, track imperfections, etc.

  • I see , so the double gyroscopes from Brennan's design are probably necessary on a larger vehicle . I wish I could find some plans for this as I would like to make one about the size of a gokart .

  • excellent work, i'm very impressioned. Congratulations

  • Very Nice! Are you going to try for a working model of the Ford Gyron , or the Gyro X two wheeled car of the 1970's soon?

    ジャイロを利用する交通機関が考案されていたと初めて知りました。

    また自作ということにはただただ、驚くしかないです。

Very nicely made. The friction control mechanism used to make the gyro precess was shown in Louis Brennan’s 1903 monorail patent. For more information have a look at the Wikipedia article; "Gyro monorail"

Most impressed with the simple elegance of this model.

  • simpaticissimo
