  • I heard plantain contains vitamin B12, can anyone confirm this as I'm looking for a source of B12 when Codex Alimentarius comes into force.

  • Plants do not contain B12. The vitamin is created by bacteria and can be found in large amounts in oysters and beef liver. You can also take supplements, but beware of the source and "inert" ingredients.

  • Food process 3 cups of plantain leaves then strain off the resulting juice. Add 1 cup of this juice to 1 cup of wild honey and heat for 5 minutes. Store in a non-clear jar. Use for coughs, fatigue, etc.

  • Yeah, that's exactly what I'm saying. Cows get their B12 from grass that's contaminated with dirt. Soil bacteria produce vitamin B12.

Eat organic produce and stop washing it so much.

  • Hmmm, kevlarthehorribleone, there is a lot of bacteria and whatnot in the dirt... are you seriously saying there's plenty of vit. B12 in the dirt?

  • Incan golden berries have B 12 .They can be ordered on line .

  • Eat some dirt.

  • Thanks for the reply, but I am a raw food vegan, so cannot eat fish or meat, and supplements will be made illegal next year because of Codex; hence my search for an alternative source.
