The start of the afternoon parade on the final day of Aomori's Nebuta Festival. One of Tōhoku's "Big Three" festivals, Nebuta is famed for its large, vibrant, and beautifully decorated floats, typically depicting samurai warriors and demons from ancient Japanese folkore. The first five days of the festival feature an evening parade, with the floats electrically illuminated by generators from within; the last day is host to an afternoon float procession, with them put out onto the bay in the evening, beneath bursting fireworks.
