Annual Liffey Descent
The Liffey Descent is the premier paddling event in Ireland each year, and one of the top paddling events in Europe because of its guaranteed water conditions and the outstanding party atmosphere that surrounds it.

Up to 1,000 competitors from Ireland and overseas race the course which combines both long sections of flat water and white water weirs. For serious marathon competitors, the Liffey Descent represents a major event on the international calendar. Silver Bridge Kayak Club made a day out of the Liffey Descent (well, that's our excuse!), which is why you'll see timings of 5+ hours. We even stopped for a leisurely lunch along the way!
