@QuasarasauQ I completely disagree with your claim that respect isn't the correct word. Why would you want the exact same sequence of events from the game to be implanted into a movie? What purpose would that serve for entertainment? It wouldn't, the result would be a long and lackluster (boring) movie with actors that'll never live up to your nostalgia. They respect the series with the atmosphere, visual elements, and some characters intertwined. Compared to RE, they did phenominal here.

@LivingxPrime Respect? Aside for well done visuals/environments, the rest has basically nothing to do with the real story of Silent Hill.
When you actually know the story, you realize most of the movie don't make sense.
"...true to the spirit of the material"... haha! What bullshit.
So "respect" is definitely not the right word here.
Also : Sean Bean is useless. Completely.

I like the idea of having a female main character. Let's face it, men can be wonderful fathers, but when it comes down to a mother trying to find her child, even if said child is adopted... there's an intense connection there that would drive a woman to do so many things to save her child. Honestly, I loved this movie to pieces, it's one of my favorites, and I am eagerly awaiting the second one.
