In 1944 Per Almark was a Swedish diplomat serving in his country's legation in Budpest. Together with Raoul Wallenberg and other diplomats, he participated in a massive rescue operation. Notwithstanding the danger and despite the terror regime of fascist Hungarian Arrow Cross and the German occupants, they managed to save thousands of Jews in Budapest.
