Finally got to ride Mr. Janyck under saddle. First impression-He's awesome and a blast to ride! He had alot more dressage in him than I expected, at least compared to Goldie! My position kind of went to hell as I haven't actually ridden in a saddle in awhile and there was no chance riding him without one (I already tried!), and he's a pretty big mover.

If you don't know who Janyck is, he's an awesome 18.2h American Warmblood Belgian cross that belongs to the Vaulting Visions vaulting team in south NJ. He was rescued after falling through an icy lake back in 2003, gaining himself national news coverage and air time on several Animal Planet shows (including earning himself a pet story back in the day and also a story in the new series "Untamed and Uncut"!). He has carried many national champion vaulters and is one of the most prominent and talented vaulting horses on the east coast. You can see his rescue footage in one of my other videos. He is an awesome guy in more ways than one.

  • i love thehorse. is he used for vaulting? or just riding? hes so good for riding in the mud, you look very relaxed riding him.

  • Thanks! Janyck is awesome for both riding and vaulting. He's the canter horse for the Vaulting Visions club and is probably the most prominent vaulting horse in Region IX. Search for "Janyck and Kai Vorberg". ;)

  • Where A Fricken Halmet

  • ignore that last persons coment. just keep working and imagen the line from your ear, pelvis, and heel. you were ahead of the horses movment in the trot, and the canter. your grasping with your heels, remember to keep your heels out of the horse! :) hope this helps. 10 year riding instructor, 7 year competer. (ps, helmets are for beginers, racing, jumping, and crosscountry. you have no need for one while you are just riding for fun. i never do!)

  • LOL. You really need to take some classes. For horse knowledge (as safety and stuff like that), but most of all for riding better.

  • i love him i ride him every sat and wed Janyck rocks!!!

  • i knew i recognized him!!! hes a trooper fer sure.(:

  • Beautiful horse! He does move very nicely. I'll have to get nit-picky on you though (hope you don't mind!), but wearing tennis shoes can get your feet caught in the stirrups and not having a helmet on isn't very safe either. Just don't want you to get hurt =)

  • nice horse but i wouldn't wear sneakers if i wear u i got hung up once doing that but good job

  • I met Janyck at the PVDA Ride For Life June 2008. I don't recall meeting you, but if you were there I had the grey percheron stallion in the barn across from yours. Janyck looks great!
