This is the HO Veranda lionel put on the market few years ago. It is now out of stock everywhere.
Even if the details do not match a brass turbine made by OMI, this engine is really nice.
This video will show you the turbine startup sequence on an analogic environment.
Set the speakers volume at a good volume to enjoy the sound of the QSI system !!!

  • Very poor detail (looks like Lionel toys). Athearn version has much better details and cost less. OMI last run is still the best

  • @ShapurKing

I do agree. The Athearn will be much better (not released yet). I own the Standard version and it's almost perfect. You can see a video of the start-up in my page.

I plan to purchase a OMI 3-units Turbine when one shows up on ebay, I'll install the same QSI sound decoder.

  • lionel makes HO?

  • Sometimes yes :)

  • besides this do u know of any other locomotives lionel makes in HO?

  • I remember Lionel did release a HO Challenger with QSI sounds. Many variants were available !!

  • I wish Lionel was made in the USA.

  • i wish lionel would get into the h.o business more their o gauge stuff is too expensive so i switched completly to h.o. Lionel has the best sounds for trains out of any company but they just cost too much God Bless

  • Thats really cool

  • I have the Lionel "O" turbine and it's TERRIBLE!

Only has 2 motors and "will hardly get out of it's own way".

Glad HO's better, the sound 4 one thing....

  • Actually I would be interested in the sound chip or generator for my stereo, are these avaliable or only comes with the model?
