this is a video of nova and two ducklings who came over for a visit, took a shower with her and went out in to the organic gardens to explore and look for snails and slugs to eat! so you can now see the benefits of natural predators in the garden.!!! no need for toxic chemical pesticides!

now they are grown, they love to be sprayed with the hose so they can bask in the showers , they have waterproof feather and eye shields so they walk right to me whenever i get the hose, begging for the water!!

Will the muscovy ducks lay eggs? I'm a vegan, but my wife isn't, and we've been talking about getting some urban chickens for our garden. Would muscovy ducks be a better alternative? What advantages do they have over chickens? Thanks.

@atwell8
they wil lay eggs starting at about 9 months old. the eggs will not hatch unless there is a male. we are vegan also but will use for the dog or give to friends, or even use as a hair treatment!!!
the ducks are nicer than chickens because
1. ducks are more affectionate (you can hold/pet them) and the will not nip like chickens have done to me in
the past
2.muscovy ducks do not have the vocal chords to quack so they are much quieter
3.the ducks eat slugs and snails

Does duck manure have a strong odor (like chicken manure)?

@MrandMissConverted
i does have a distinct smell but our ducks roam free in a big yard of space so it never gets concentrated or stinky
